Advanced electrolysis removes skin tags, benign moles and other small skin blemishes using a very fine sterile probe and a small, controlled current. It suits common concerns such as skin tags on the neck, underarms or eyelids, raised moles that have been assessed as benign, blood spots and milia. It is a different technique from electrolysis for hair removal and from our cryotherapy based Skin Tag & Lesion Removal. Sessions last 15 or 30 minutes, and our Petersfield clinic also treats thread veins. Every treatment starts with a consultation, and any mole that has changed, bleeds or itches should be checked by your GP before booking. Results vary from person to person.
How It Works

Your practitioner looks at the blemish, checks it is suitable for cosmetic treatment and explains the plan.
Treatment
A very fine sterile probe delivers a small, controlled current to the blemish, in a 15 or 30 minute session.
Healing
The area may redden or form small scabs, which are left to heal naturally, with a review if needed.

What to Expect
Preparation
Your first visit starts with a short consultation, where your practitioner looks at the blemish and checks it is suitable for cosmetic treatment. The NHS advises seeing a GP if a mole has changed size, shape or colour, is painful or itchy, or is inflamed, bleeding or crusty. Please see your GP before booking if this applies to you. Come with clean skin, free from make-up on the area to be treated.
Your Treatment
The area is cleansed and a very fine sterile probe is used to deliver a small, controlled current to the blemish. You may feel a brief heat or stinging sensation, and your practitioner will check you are comfortable throughout. Appointments last 15 or 30 minutes, depending on how much needs treating.
Aftercare
The treated area may look red, and small scabs can form as it heals. Leave them to fall away naturally rather than picking, protect the area with a high factor SPF and follow the aftercare advice your practitioner gives you. Some blemishes need a follow-up, and a short review appointment can be booked with us.
